VoIP setup guide: SkyMesh supplied Netcomm NF18ACV

Here is everything you need to get started with your VOIP service, using your SkyMesh-supplied NF18ACV.

Before you set up your router, we recommend connecting your computer to the LAN 1 port on the router via a Ethernet cable. Keep a copy of your welcome email handy, because it contains important information about your service.

Accessing your router

  1. Open a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).
  2. Navigate to http://192.168.20.1
  3. Enter the username ‘admin’ and your admin password. Click “Enter”.
  4. Click on the Voice heading on the left-hand side of the page.
  5. Click on the “SIP Basic Setting” sub-heading.

Enter the following details into your router:

SIP Basic Settings
  • Bound Interface Name:
    • If you’re connected to the NBN through the FTTN/B or FTTC technology types, select ‘PTM’.
    • If you’re connected to the NBN through any other technology type, select ‘Ethernet’.
  • Country: AUS – AUSTRALIA
  • SIP local port(1-65535): 5060
  • SIP domain name: Use the SIP SERVER from your welcome email.
  • Use SIP Proxy. Should be ticked
  • SIP Registrar: Use the SIP SERVER from your welcome email.
  • SIP Registrar port: 5060
  • Use SIP Outbound Proxy: Should be ticked
  • SIP Proxy: Use the SIP SERVER from your welcome email.
  • SIP Proxy port: 5060
  • Use SIP Registrar: Should be ticked
  • SIP Outbound Proxy: Use the SIP SERVER from your welcome email.
  • SIP Outbound Proxy port: 5060
  • Use SIP Proxy2: Should be Unticked
  • Use SIP Outbound Proxy2: Should be Unticked
  • Use SIP Registrar2: Should be Unticked

SIP Account 1:
  • Account Enabled: Ticked
  • Polarity Reverse Enable: Unticked
  • Authentication name: Use the SIP USERNAME from your welcome email.
  • Password: Use the SIP PASSWORD from your welcome email.
  • Cid Name: Use the SIP USERNAME from your welcome email.
SIP Account 2:
  • Account Enabled: Should be Unticked
Codecs

codec–line 1

  • Untick all Codecs apart from G711U and G711A
  • Ensure ptimems = 20
  • Ensure the priorities are set to the following
  • G711U: Priority 1.
  • Make sure the checkbox in the ‘enable’ column next to G711U is ticked.
  • Untick the ‘enable’ box next to all other codecs.

Click the ‘Apply’ button at the bottom of the screen. Once you click apply you may have to wait 120 seconds for your router to apply the settings.

Click on the ‘SIP Advanced Settings’ heading on the left-hand side of your browser window.

Untick all features on Line 1 and Line 2 apart from Call Waiting.

==Settings==
  • Enable VAD Support: Ticked
  • Enable RTCP Flow Ctrol: Unticked
  • Enable Echo Cancellation: Ticked
  • Enable # to ASCII: Unticked
==SIP Timer Setting==
  • Registration Expire Timeout: 120
  • Session Expire Timeout: 1800
  • Min Session Expire Time: 90
==Digitmap Setting==
  • Leave Digitmap settings as default.
==Qos Setting==
  • DSCP for SIP: EF (101110)
  • DSCP for RTP: EF (101110)
==PayLoad Setting==
  • DTMF Relay setting: RFC2833
  • payload value: 120
==Transport Setting==
  • SIP Transport protocol: UDP

Click the ‘Apply’ button at the bottom of the screen. You may need to allow 120 seconds for the NF18ACV to apply these settings.
Reboot your router. This process will take up to 90 seconds to complete.

To confirm that these settings have been entered correctly, you can click on the ‘VoIP Status’ heading on the left-hand side of the screen. If the account has been successfully registered, the router will show your Registration status as ‘Up’.
If the Registration status is ‘Up’, you should now be able to make and receive calls.

After performing these steps, make a test call with your phone. You should now be able to make and receive calls using the SkyMesh VOIP service.
